We’ve all been through the school lunch line, dreading what the lunch lady was going to slop onto the dingy plastic tray we carried…Fortunately times have changed a bit and schools are really trying to feed our children decent meals that look appetizing. As for my three picky kids, they still aren’t into it. If it’s not grilled cheese or chicken nugget day, then they want to bring their lunch. But, one thing that I can get them into is the Mott’s® Applesauce Pouch Pals!
Packing three different lunches each day to fit the different needs of my children led me to create an easy-to-read list of ideas to make your lives a little easier! We head on over to Stop & Shop and get all of our items for the week, and the mornings are so much smoother! They have the best sale prices and great produce! Having a child with ADHD requires a high-protein, low-sugar diet to keep him on track, so I’ll start there!
Lunch meat: Turkey, Ham, Bologna, Salami, etc.
Leftover Rotisserie Chicken
Cut up Ham
Ground Beef tacos
Apple Sauce (We use Mott’s new Clear Pouch Applesauce packs! There is no sugar added and my kids are OBSESSED with them! I get mine at Stop and Shop where we have found that they the freshest fruit. These were found in the snack aisle near the other fruit and applesauce)
Frozen Yogurt tubes
Bread (for sandwich)
Bell Pepper Strips
…though treats can be filled with sugar, adding one or two into a lunch gets my kids excited for lunchtime, which seems to be hard for them. So we throw one in each day.
Fruit Snacks (natural coloring)
Hopefully this list will give you all an easier time headed back to school and take the stress out of your busy morning! Let me know what other ideas you have that I could add on!
